The largest island in the Great Salt Lake, connected to the mainland by a causeway and home to a free-roaming bison herd along with pronghorn, bighorn sheep, and a steady population of shorebirds along its shoreline.
The lake’s brine flies and brine shrimp support huge numbers of migrating birds in season, especially along the island’s calmer bays.
