Clouds clearing over the Cathedral Group

The peaks had been socked in with cloud most of the morning, and I waited at the lakeshore for the ceiling to lift. It finally broke just enough to reveal the summits dusted in fresh snow, framed by clouds still clinging to the ridgeline.

Getting the shot

Dead-calm water gave a near-mirror reflection, so I composed to balance the real peaks against their reflection almost symmetrically. f/22 kept both the near shoreline grass and the distant summits sharp front to back.
